Buenos Aires, November 19 (NA) -- Arnaldo André and Silvia Pérez starred in "Don't Forget Me, Please," a play that centers on aging and the taboos imposed by society, with a comedic and reflective touch.

Directed by Hernán Krasutzky, the piece was performed at the Palacio Libertad in two sold-out shows, where, according to the Argentine News Agency, minimal props and a well-told story kept the audience captivated for 80 minutes, ending in a standing ovation.

The performance was part of the theater program and told the story of a lonely widower who visits a nursing home where his son is trying to get him to move, as the man has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. From there, he questions the nature of the disease—not that he suffers from it, but that he learns from it.

Beba, a free-spirited woman in her seventies, seeks to mock societal structures, conveys a message of youthfulness despite her pains, and is the one who aims to break prejudices about old age. Through this central theme, she goes on a long journey of trials and triumphs.

Featuring outstanding performances, the play emphasizes moving beyond established structures. With great comedic skill, it once again raises issues such as marijuana, sexuality, art, and new opportunities in the third age.

Through simple wordplay, the script allows for an exploration of intimacy on stage, dramatic contrasts, and even spring-like themes. It is far from an ode to forgetting, nor does it approach texts that merely induce anxiety with the thought of loss, but rather, it laughs at the passage of time.
